Description

This online series focuses on the application of spiral technique in the following role, using figures that progress from basic to advanced, including ochos, giros, boleos, planeos, and calecitas. In additiona to mroe We will explore how spiral movement travels through the body and how it informs timing, interpretation of the lead, precision of movement, and the perception of spaciousness within the embrace—whether dancing in close or open.

​In addition to these circular figures, we will explore more subtle applications of the inner spiral, cultivating an organic, soft movement quality that permeates the entire dance, and examining how this inner spiral relates to the leader’s position in relation to the follower.

 

While the primary focus is on spiral movement as it applies to the follower’s steps, this class is not only for followers. Leaders will also benefit by developing greater clarity, timing, and sensitivity in their lead through a deeper understanding of how spiral movement is organized within the follower’s body.

interested in understanding how spiral movement functions in the following role, so they can lead with greater clarity, timing, and sensitivity.

Join from your living room or get together with your friends to take these classes with company!

Details

No partner is necessary to join.
 

All exercises will be practiced solo, with the use of props to support awareness of how this technique functions within the couple.

​

All levels are welcome.

​

Although each class works as a drop-in, those who attend the entire series will find a progressive benefit.

​

Recommended Props: Resistance Band, Yoga Block

​

Shoes: Some exercises will be done bare foot or in socks and others with tango shoes (flats or high heels depending on your preference)

Cost

General: 

$25 per class or $80 for all 4

​

On-Demand Members and Feb Retreat Participants:

$20 per class or $15 for all 4

Registration

Pre-Registration required to participate. If you are just dropping in for one class please register at least 24 hours in advance.

Once you are registered you will receive an email with the zoom link for each class.

About Veronika

Veronika has been dancing tango since 2005 and teaching since 2011. Known for her clear, effective and encouraging approach, she brings a charismatic presence to the classroom. With a background in yoga, fine art, and life coaching, Veronika's teaching is rooted in a deep understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, creativity and personal growth. She is passionate about strong fundamentals, believing they empower students to dance with confidence, authenticity, and expressive freedom. 

 

Veronika has studied with many world-renown instructors from older generation milongueros to contemporary favorites, explored a variety of styles from salon, milonguero, and nuevo, and is fluid in both the roles of follower and leader as well as different modes of embrace including close, open and everything in between.

 

Veronika currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she hosts yoga and tango retreats several times a year, and travels to teach workshops abroad.
